CabWizz Ltd – Driver Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the agreement between CabWizz Ltd (“CabWizz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and you, a licensed Hackney Carriage (Black Cab) driver using the CabWizz mobile application (“App”). By registering for or using the App, you confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements and accept these Terms.
We may update these Terms at any time. All updates will be posted in the App and/or website. Continued use of CabWizz means you accept any new changes.
2. Eligibility and Registration
To join CabWizz as a driver, you must:
Be 21 years or older
Hold a valid Hackney Carriage Driver Licence and Vehicle Licence
Provide a valid photo ID (e.g. passport or UK driving licence)
Submit all required documentation for manual verification
Register your bank account via our website (for subscription and scrub payments)
CabWizz does not verify insurance, but you are responsible for ensuring you have the required insurance and documentation for operating a Black Cab.
3. Subscription and Fees
Monthly Fee: £2.99 for access to premium driver features (paid via our website)
Customer Booking Fee: Customers pay a £2 fee per booking to CabWizz (not deducted from your fare)
Scrub Fees: If a customer cancels after you've been assigned:
Customer pays a £7 scrub fee
CabWizz retains £2 (incl. VAT), and £5 is paid to you (incl. VAT, minus transaction costs)
All transactions are handled through our website to comply with app store policies.
4. App Features and Disclaimers
CabWizz provides various driver-focused features. These are informational tools and not guaranteed income sources. We are not liable for errors, outdated listings, or outcomes resulting from use.
Key Features Include:
Burst Listings: Notifications for potential job hotspots (not guaranteed)
Event Listings: Based on public event data, may change without notice
Rank Reporting: Violations can be reported to TfL; reporter’s email is attached for follow-up
Lost Property:
For app-booked rides: CabWizz facilitates contact
For other rides: responsibility lies solely with driver and customer
Fare Estimator: Based on journey data; final fares must follow the meter
Income & Expense Tracker:
Logs stored locally or in encrypted cloud (CabWizz cannot access them)
Used for personal reference or optional accountant sharing
Ratings and Reviews:
Users may rate/review drivers after rides
Drivers may respond to reviews
Repeated low ratings may trigger account review
Health Advice: Public health tips; not medical advice
Messaging Groups: Driver-created or official groups (CabWizz does not moderate private groups)
Community Forums: Open spaces for mechanical faults, abbreviations, trade etiquette, and discussions. CabWizz is not liable for accuracy of posts
Planned Road Closures & Emergency Broadcasts:
Closure data from TfL and users
Emergency reports are user-submitted and unverified
Toilet Listings: Rated by drivers; accuracy not guaranteed
Bilker Page: Used to identify known fare evaders; based on driver reports
Marketplace:
Open to all driver users (Lite or Pro)
Free to list items
CabWizz is not liable for sales, purchases, or disputes
Business Listings and Referrals:
Businesses may be listed from public info
Verified businesses can claim their listing
Some referrals (e.g. to accountants or insurance brokers) may result in disclosed commissions
Rental/Insurance/Mechanic Listings: Provided for driver convenience; CabWizz is not liable for services or outcomes
Road Search & Rank Info: Offered for driver navigation and insight only; listings may be inaccurate or out of date
5. Driver Obligations
You agree to:
Provide Transportation Services with skill, courtesy, and punctuality
Ensure your cab is licensed, clean, roadworthy, and compliant with applicable law
Keep all MOT, insurance, and road tax up to date
Use the app responsibly and legally
Comply with all data protection laws
Maintain your own records and tax responsibilities
You are not required to report incidents (e.g. breakdowns) to CabWizz, but you are encouraged to report technical issues with the app or platform.
6. Termination and Suspension
CabWizz may suspend or terminate your account if:
You breach these Terms
You provide false information
You misuse any features or post harmful content
Repeated low ratings or user complaints are received
You may also cancel your account anytime via our website or by deleting the App.
7. Relationship with CabWizz
You are self-employed
CabWizz is a technology platform, not your employer
You decide when and how long to work
You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and legal obligations
Any referral commissions we earn (e.g., from insurance or accountant services) will be clearly disclosed.
8. Data Retention and Customer Support
Ratings, logs, and financial records are retained securely for legal and operational purposes for up to [Insert Years]
Private income/expense logs are encrypted and cannot be accessed by CabWizz or third parties without your permission
Customer and driver data is protected in line with UK GDPR
You can request data deletion or amendment at any time
